The Real Story of Chanukah

We all grew up learning that the story of Chanukah is the miracle of the oil.

Is that what really happened?

The Hanukkah Mitzvah Menorah!

A gift collection for families in need.

Here's how it works:

In the lobby of the synagogue, a large menorah is on display. Hanging on this menorah are special tags with the gender and age of an anonymous child. Each tag represents a needy child whose family cannot afford presents.

We are asking all members of our community to "take a tag" and purchase a small gift of your choice that is age and gender appropriate for the child on your tag. There is no minimum or maximum amount of money that you must spend on a gift. Every gift counts, no matter the size! All gifts will be donated to local charities that will distribute them to the families during Hanukkah and other holidays throughout the month.

The gifts should be brought to Alex at the synagogue. We will be collecting the presents through December 20th.
